A seasoned fundraiser and political strategist Ms. Mills fuses her political acumen and business savvy to help clients forge mutually advantageous relationships that are both lucrative and sustainable.
Prior to launching Synergy, Ms. Mills served as the Executive Director for the Congressional Black Caucus’ Political Action Committee (CBC PAC) where she oversaw the effort to increase the number of African Americans in the United States Congress. There she advised campaigns on fundraising and political strategies, and facilitated relationships between the business community and the CBC. Ms. Mills led the PAC to record-breaking fundraising success. Her efforts also contributed to the election of 4 new African Americans to the U.S. Congress, including then-Senator Barack Obama.
Before working with the CBC PAC, Ms. Mills served as a Regional Finance Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) under then-Senator Jon Corzine. At the DSCC she raised over $1.5 million in the southern region of the country and served as the liaison to six U.S. Senators. Prior to the DSCC she held several senior level roles on federal and local campaigns including Houston Deputy Finance Director for Ron Kirk for U.S. Senate (currently the U.S. Trade Representative), and New Orleans political consultant for Senator Mary Landrieu.
Ms. Mills began her career in public policy at the Center for Education Reform. She holds two degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park: a Master of Business Administration from the R.H. Smith School of Business and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Ms. Mills is an active member of Net Impact, a global network of leaders who are changing the world through business, and a variety of national Democratic groups. A New Jersey native, she and her partner currently reside in Washington, D.C. They are training for their first marathon.
